Heavy Lift systems - Many below the hook (BTH) devices only lift light loads. By defintiion, a below the hook (BTH) lifting device interfaces between the crane/hoist hook and the product being lifted. Sometimes these are simple interfaces like a spreader beam or a simple clamp. Occasionally, a simple sling (ASME B30.9) will do the job. But, many situations require unique geometry to accomplish the lift. Others are designed to accomplish heavy lifts. Some fit both categories. The automotive body lift fits both complex geometry and heavy lifting.
KTM Solutions designs and analyzes custom below the hook lifting devices. This is just one example of a unique design required to support a unique customer. The design was developed to be compliant with ASME B30.20 and ASME BTH-1 in support of an OSHA 1910 safe work place system.
